ABS edge banding does not add any fillers (such as calcium carbonate and other substances) during the production process, so the rounded corners are very smooth and bright after trimming, and the surface has strong impact resistance. ABS edge banding has good dimensional stability, will shrink only at a high temperature of 99 degrees, and it has strong resistance to chemical corrosion. It is also more environmentally friendly, has no irritating odor, can be directly burned at high temperature without air pollution, and is beneficial to environmental protection.

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene edge banding, more commonly known as ABS, has a lot of great benefits. It’s highly resistant to abrasions and impacts while also being thermally and mechanically resilient. As a laminate, ABS also has the benefit of being ecologically sound. This makes it a favourite option over alternatives like PVC, which shares many of the characteristics of ABS but is (like most plastics) notorious for being environmentally unfriendly. ABS definitely comes out as the better option on ecological terms, as, unlike PVC, it lacks chlorine. This means it’s an acid-free option that is by far the more environmentally friendly option. Acids in plastic are regularly responsible for a wide variety of environmental damage, so ABS is a great choice. The lower density of ABS also means it has a lighter composition than other alternatives. Despite this ABS is still a high-quality choice that offers a great finish.
